Finally got home from the Minlaton show
We had a great day yesterday at the Minlaton Show. We were happy to find that plenty of people were interested in our Electric Boosted Solar Hot Water Systems & we also had limited interest in our solar power product also.
We have another show at Middleton in South Australia this weekend & we are looking forward to a huge turnout.

Hot Water Now enters the world of blogging
Hot Water Now is a leader in the provision of solar hot water systems throughout Adelaide & the greater South Australian state. We have decided to start blogging on some of the issues that surround hot water with specific interest in Adelaide & Indeed SA.
We will provide updated information about Solar, Gas & Heat Pump styles of Hot WAter Systems so that the average Australian consumer can be fully informed as to what is happening in the industry.
Our first post today will cover the basics about solar hot water.
There are 2 main types of solar hot water panels 1 is evacuated tube & the other is flat plate collectors. At Hot Water Now we currently use flat plate collectors as they seem to attract more REC's & therefore appear to be more efficient.
We have seen many claims from manufacturers of evac tube technology to the contrary, although we figure that if the Government rating system is valid that flat plate still seems to be the way to go.
We also are unaware of the ability for evac tube products to handle frost conditions as it appears you seem to get provided a few spare tubes when you purchase that type of product.
So if you are trying to make a comparison between evac tube & flat plate collectors I'd look at the Australian standard hail rating & also the Government REC's rating to ensure that you are buying a robust hot water product that is the most efficient.
We will provide several more posts over time relating specifically to Hot Water & more specifically relating to product applications in South Australia.
We also run a water saving products website called Save Water Now if you are also interested in saving water
